Fun times with Jewelry and more!

Gosh - it's been a year and a half since I last posted on my blog!
For shame, me.

Thing is, I'm generally over-committed, and it's gotten worse in the past few years - so if I have a bit of time, I usually opt to spend it making something rather than blogging about making something.

But I miss documenting my creative endeavors - I don't even remember to take pictures a lot of the time if I'm not blogging!

I have big news though!  I am participating in the Blue Door Beads Holiday Jewelry Collective this year!  I am soooo excited!!

Here is the photo I submitted with my application for the show:

And here are some additional pieces I made to show and sell!

If you are in the Bay Area, please come to the show!!

Last minute Valentines - yikes!

For weeks (at least 2 or 3), I've been thinking to myself "hey, Wild Thing needs Valentines for his class - we'd better get on it!"

Some years I'm good with the standard Spider Man valentines - especially if I find something early enough that all the good designs are not gone from the shelves.

That didn't happen this year.

BUT - I know that there are all kinds of talented designers out there who offer free printables for just such an occasion.  I visited one of my favorite papercraft sites, The Toymaker - and in the Holiday section under Valentine's are these adorable heart cookie cards.  I love love love this website!

So, some cardstock, scissors, dumdums, and gluestick later - plus Wild Thing signing his name to 24 of these babies - we had a bag full of Valentine goodness for his class party tomorrow.

Yay!

(I actually have another last-minute Valentine project to post, but I haven't taken a photo yet. Plus the recipient may actually see this post before he sees the Valentine...so that one will have to wait.

no time to blog really...but there are some great things happening out there!

I just found this particular holiday ezine chock full of projects for gifts and holiday decor!

And of course there is the annual Sew Mama Sew! Handmade Holidays for the month of November - I have been trolling these for, what?, 3 years now?  That would make sense, since it's the 4th Annual one...

Anyway, I hope to have some good crafty gift action to post in the next little while.

In the meantime, if any of my few readers know about spray adhesive to baste quilts, let me know. I have a pattern that is a quilt as you go thing and it just says "spray adhesive" - but I'm sure it needs to at least be water soluble so it will wash out.  Same pattern uses glue sticks for raw edge appliques - but I'm pretty sure you can get the washable school type for that.  Do I need a special basting adhesive or can I use the craft repositionable stuff?
